Message - Tanaka Sensei First of all I would like to congratulate members of committee for the well-organized 35th Anniversary from the bottom of my heart. You have experienced much suffering, joyfulness, good meeting and farewell through running this club. Since Maekawa Sensei started the class in 1968, it took 6 years to grow up many of excellent local leaders and I am sure he did his best. Horiuchi Sensei followed up for another 2 years to make club solid. I believed that without leadership of 2 senseis, you cannot think of present club. Your club started in Metropolitan YMCA and I would appreciate Metropolitan YMCA for offering us good opportunity to meet each others.
Karate-do is now spread out all over the world, but we should never forget the word of “Manners” and “Fidelity” which are very important for Karate-Do learners. Our purpose is to promote individual techniques, health and personality. I would like you to keep this in your mind that Karate-do could be an educational sport and also martial art.
